A coroner's inquest has found an engineer who built a hovercraft died instantly from head injuries when the spinning propeller on his home-built machine struck him in the head.
Waitakere man Alistair Kenneth Senior, 40, died during a test run of the hovercraft last July at Muriwai Beach when the propeller structure broke free.
