The trial of a prominent New Zealander and a relative began in Manukau District Court this morning.
The case is subject to heavy blanket suppression orders, including the defendants' identity and the charges.
The jury of six men and six women was impaneled yesterday and was dismissed for the day while lawyers dealt with pretrial matters.
Yesterday, Judge Richard Earwaker warned the jury about "blanket suppression" orders in place and instructed them to tell anyone who asked them about the trial not to reveal who the defendants were and what they were charged with.
Today, the judge repeated the warnings and told jurors what to should expect over the two-week trial.
