Progress has been made to clear the shelves of the synthetic drug K2.
Drug regulation group Star Trust has been able to convince the drug manufacturers to remove the drug from the shelves in the coming weeks.
Star Trust general manager Grant Hall says this is a big step.
"It's the most famous, probably most successful brand in the southern hemisphere.
"So it's a big brand. This was a big step. But we convinced them that this gesture of goodwill would be well received by the public, the politicians, and hopefully the police."
