Wairarapa police are investigating a house fire but it is too early to say whether or not the blaze is suspicious. Masterton firefighters were called to the Kuripuni St home at 10.30pm on Saturday. Acting Detective Sergeant Mike Smith said police were conducting a scene examination and were unable to determine if the fire was suspicious or not. "Until a scene examination is completed, then that will dictate our line of enquiries." Station officer Garry Neilsen said the house was significantly damaged and it took about half an hour to bring the blaze under control. They were unsure what had caused the fire but were investigating it along with police. He said there were no people in the house by the time the fire service arrived, and three trucks attended the scene.
