The Wairarapa Junior Cricket Board is being pro-active in their planning for the 2007-08 season.
Over the next couple of weeks clubs and schools will be holding registration days which will provide any primary school-aged cricketer who wants to play cricket the opportunity to join a club.
This will be aided by club contacts being provided to schools and they are also available from Sport Wairarapa. The actual season for JAB teams will kick off on the evening of Friday, October 12 for seventh grade players and the following morning for sixth grade players.
Planning for the representative season is also underway with dates for pre-season games and trials being set.
The establishment off a website is also proving a successful promotional tool for the Wairarapa JCB, whose next meeting will be at Sport Wairarapa on Monday, starting at 7pm. It will be open to anyone interested in furthering junior cricket in the Wairarapa region with the positions of chairperson, secretary and minutes secretary to be filled there.
