Vandals have had a field day at Hawke's Bay's exclusive Lindisfarne College.
In the early hours of yesterday morning, vandals spray painted the lawn and lit a small fire on the main field.
A brass bell, which was gifted to the independent school in 2004 by a group of leavers, was also stolen. It is 500mm tall and has the Lindisfarne College crest engraved on it.
Hastings police are seeking information on the vandalism and theft.
