A man's criminal record was faxed in error to the wrong number, in the latest privacy breach blunder by a government department.
The Labour Party has obtained the five-page confidential document, which lists convictions dating back to 1999, Radio New Zealand reported.
It was sent from the Henderson probation office and was intended to go to an addiction help programme but ended up at west Auckland removal business.
Labour's justice spokesman Charles Chauvel said the Corrections Department clearly had insufficient regard for privacy.
Corrections Minister Anne Tolley said although the incident was disappointing, people made mistakes and she hoped it was a one-off error.
