A prisoner granted temporary work release to prepare him for his final release next year was on the run yesterday after simply walking out of his workplace about 1pm.
The Corrections Department warned that Piripi Wiremu Raroa, 24, would face serious consequences for choosing to leave the work premises he had been placed in.
Police have appealed to the public to help catch Raroa, classed as a minimum security prisoner.
