A 36-year-old prison inmate who died at Kaitoke Prison on Wednesday did so from natural causes, a post-mortem examination has revealed.
Police were alerted after James Koteraki Kahu died in the prison's nursery compound.
Wanganui police area commander Inspector Duncan MacLeod said the death was "entirely from natural causes' and no one else was being sought in investigations.
"Police will now conclude their inquiries today and refer the matter to the coroner,' he said.
