KEY POINTS:
A small electrical fire at Rolleston Prison in Canterbury this afternoon started in a cell.
About 100 prisoners from the Rimu Unit were evacuated while firefighters extinguished the blaze, Rolleston Fire Service officer Nigel Lilley said.
There was some fire damage to the cell, he said.
