Principal in drink-drive ban

A primary school principal who refused a police request to be tested for alcohol while driving has been disqualified from driving for a year.

Barry John Murray, 53, of Ahipara, appeared in the Kaitaia District Court this month on a charge of refusing an officer's request for blood.
