A majestic 1936 Lanchester car has been sold for $225,000 at auction in Auckland, although the deal remains conditional on the consent of its owner, an Indian Prince.
Auctioneer Dunbar Sloane is still trying to contact Prince Dhruvadityasinh Sisodia, whose father brought the 5.5m open-bodied "straight eight" cylindered car to Auckland from Rajasthan in 1993.
