A princely birthday cake has been offered to the highest bidder to raise money for a Masterton girl who survived a brain tumour.
Sophie King, 6, has endured 14 operations over 24 months after a tumour was discovered on her brain stem when she was two years old.
Her aunt Liz King, a former Masterton woman who was one of 64 birthday guests of Prince Charles on Wednesday, is auctioning her cake from the party for Sophie.
Ms King said the latest MRI scans showed the tumour had gone but her niece was still battling her way back to full health in the wake of the illness.
She is hoping to raise enough money to fund a holiday to the Gold Coast for her niece, daughter of Masterton couple Tony and Vicki King.
