Prince Charles was greeted by the familiar sight of a fully clothed guard of honour when he landed at Auckland's Whenuapai air base today.
The prince, who was confronted by breast-baring protestors in Wellington yesterday, inspected the guard after landing about 11.30am, Joe Frahm of the visits and ceremonial office told NZPA.
He chatted to defence staff for more than an hour and was to leave the base for other appointments.
Charles flew out from Wellington this morning to complete his final engagements in Auckland before heading to Fiji tomorrow afternoon.
At Whenuapai, the prince looked at a display in one of the base's hangars and jumped into a helicopter for a look.
"He's just talking to various staff as he meets them and they're explaining verious missions such as to the Solomon Islands and Tsunami relief," Mr Frahm said.
