A jaunt on the Taieri Gorge Railway train and a wildlife sanctuary visit are on the itinerary for Prince Charles and wife Camilla's visit New Zealand next week.
Prime Minister John Key and Wellington mayor Celia Wade-Brown will meet the the royal couple when they arrive at RNZAF Air Movements Terminal at Wellington Airport on Wednesday afternoon, according to details of their visit released by the Department of Internal Affairs today.
The royals will then attend a ceremonial welcome at Government House.
After a private wreath laying ceremony the couple will lay a fern on the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior, and then walk to Anzac Square to unveil a Commonwealth Walkway Plaque. This will be the main opportunity for members of the public to see the royal couple in Wellington.
There will be a state reception at Government House on Wednesday evening, according to the itinerary.
