KEY POINTS:
The Duke of York will have official engagements in Wellington, Rotorua and Auckland during his visit this month, Prime Minister Helen Clark said yesterday.
Prince Andrew will attend a dinner at Government House, hosted by Governor-General Anand Satyanand, on March 15.
The following day he will be briefed on trade links between New Zealand and Britain and visit the Army's logistic regiment, of which he is colonel-in-chief, at Trentham.
On March 17 he will be in Rotorua for the ceremony to celebrate the gallantry of Lance Sergeant Haane Manahi during World War II. The next day the Prince will visit Mokoia Island and on March 19 he will visit Devonport Naval Base.
On March 20 he will speak at a trade and investment meeting in Auckland.
Helen Clark said she was delighted Prince Andrew would be at the celebration of Sergeant Manahi's bravery.
Sergeant Manahi was not awarded a Victoria Cross during World War II despite recommendations that his gallantry warranted the highest award for valour.
Last year the Government, working with Te Arawa, the Manahi VC Committee and Buckingham Palace, announced there would be a special ceremony to recognise his deeds.
