Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, arrived in Wellington late last night at the start of a four-day visit.
His flight from Melbourne touching down shortly after midnight.
He kicks off his tour today with a visit to the 2nd Logistic Battalion in Linton, Palmerston North.
On Friday, he will visit the Royal New Zealand Army Logistic Regiment (RNZALR) based at Trentham Military Camp, Wellington.
The Duke of York has held the appointment of Colonel-in-Chief of the RNZALR since its formation in 1996 and the Regiment is known as The Duke of York's Own.
After leaving Trentham, he will visit the Burnham-based 3rd Logistic Battalion on exercise in the Nelson region.
He last visited New Zealand in 1998 when he presented the Prince Andrew Banner to the RNZALR in a ceremony in Palmerston North.
On Saturday Prince Andrew will open Nelson's Battle of Trafalgar bicentenary celebrations and attend a short dedication for the new $70,000 west end windows at Nelson's Christ Church Cathedral.
He leaves New Zealand on Sunday.
