Masterton's Tony Price has recovered from a calf strain and will be searching for more gold at the Oceania Masters track and field championships at Tauranga over the weekend.
Price has already won individual gold medals in the 5km run and the 8km cross-country in the men's 55yrs grade and was a member of the New Zealand line-up which took out the teams title in the cross-country as well.
It was during his cross-country success that Price strained his calf but coach Mark Harris reported from Tauranga yesterday that after a day "limping around like a 70-year-old" Price had bounced back and was now facing the track and half-marathon events over the next two days with confidence.
Another Masterton athlete, Andrea Williams, has featured prominently at the Tauranga meet in the women's 40yrs grade, finishing third in the 8km cross-country and also being part of the winning New Zealand team there.
She has the 400m and 2000m steeplechase to come on her programme.
