Auckland's Water Pressure Group is asking United Future's nine MPs to "show some common sense and help families" by stopping commercialised water services.
Group spokeswoman Penny Bright says United Future responded to a pre-election survey on water services by saying it stood firm on the principle: "We [United Future] oppose the commercialisation of water supplies."
The response came from Jenni Le Lievre, a policy adviser to United Future leader Peter Dunne.
