KEY POINTS:
The Presbyterian Church has a new Moderator, The Right Reverend Graham Redding.
He begins his two-year term from October 2.
Dr Redding is principal of the Knox Centre for ministry and leadership, the church's Dunedin-based training centre for ministers and lay leaders.
Dr Redding took up that role in 2007.
Before that, he served as parish minister at St John's in the City in Wellington for six years and Somervell Memorial Presbyterian Church in Auckland for nine years.
He has a Doctorate from London University. His research interests have lain mainly in the fields of theology, worship, ethics and the arts.
He has also published a book, Prayer and the Priesthood of Christ in the Reformed Tradition, in 2003.
Dr Redding is married to Jenni and has three teenage children. He and his family live in Dunedin.
