A pregnant woman suffered a broken leg and two others were also injured after being struck by a car in Hamilton.
An 18-year-old man faces charges including drink driving and driving while disqualified after the incident on Crawshaw Drive, Nawton, at 9.50pm yesterday.
A Waikato police spokesman said a SubaruImpreza was driven into a group of people.
It appeared that the car, which was originally being driven by a woman, stopped to allow a man to get out and vomit.
Neighbours reportedly took exception to that and a fight erupted leaving a man with head injuries.
A woman got out of the car to help him when the 18-year-old allegedly got behind the wheel and drove the car into a crowd of people, including a pregnant woman who suffered a suspected broken leg.
Another woman suffered a broken foot and a man suffered "a multitude" of minor injuries.
The woman who was originally driving has also been charged with drink driving.
