A pregnant woman who was hit by a car near Nelson remains in a comfortable condition in Nelson Hospital.
The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was a pedestrian and was struck on High St in Motueka, outside the Countdown supermarket around 12pm, southern ambulance communications team manager Andy Gray said.
Ambulance and a medical rescue helicopter were called to the scene.
The woman was complaining of back pain, and was flown to Nelson Hospital as a precautionary measure, Mr Gray said.
A Nelson Marlborough District Health Board spokeswoman said the woman was in a comfortable condition in Nelson Hospital.
