A man and a pregnant woman were injured in a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 1 in Northland this evening.
The Fire Service was called to the crash at a passing lane north of Kaiwaka just before 7pm.

Debris is scattered on the road for 100m.
There are no diversions in place, however traffic will be delayed for the next hour.
Two fire engines and a Fire Service support vehicle are at the crash site. Another support vehicle was on its way to assist with traffic control.
St John paramedics were also at the scene, and the Westpac Helicopter was on standby, the Fire Service spokeswoman said.
Two people were removed from their vehicles by emergency services, police said.
The pregnant woman was airlifted to Whangarei Hospital in serious condition.
The man who was seriously injured was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Only one north-bound lane is open and the Serious Crash Unit are on the scene.
Debris is being cleared from the road. Tow-trucks are on their way to move the damaged vehicles.
A St John spokeswoman said seven other people were involved in the crash. They had minor injuries or no injuries and were treated by St John staff at the scene.
