An indecent assault on a 16 year old girl by two younger boys is being investigated by police in Hastings.
The Dominion Post reports the girl was allegedly assaulted yesterday at 3.20pm as she walked home from school.
The victim was initially able to push the offenders off her, but they continued to assault her near the intersection of Willowpark Rd South and Ellison Rd.
Both offenders were using push scooters.
The main offender was dark-skinned and aged about 12 years.
He is described as about 1.5m tall, with short, straight, spiky hair and was of heavy build.
He was wearing a bright yellow singlet and shorts. The Dominion Post reports this fits a similar description of an offender in a previous sexual assault which occurred near Farmlands on Southampton St West in February this year.
The other offender was described as a European, aged about 15.
A male motorist in a white car slowed down during the assaults and yelled at the boys to leave the victim alone and they ran off, swearing at the man.
However, once the car was out of sight they approached the victim again a short distance up the road and continued their assault.
Police want to speak to anyone who witnessed the young woman being followed by these two offenders or anyone who has seen them indecently assaulting her.
Police also want to speak to the motorist who slowed down and told the offenders to leave the victim alone.
