KEY POINTS:
A powercut shortly after 9am briefly plunged Aucklanders into darkness today.
Vector spokeswoman Philippa White said the powercut lasted two minutes.
She said the power went out in parts of the CBD but she could not say how many customers were affected.
Ms White said during routine maintenance at Otahuhu substation, Transpower requested that Vector shift some load.
"While this was underway there was a switching error resulting in a two minute outage from 9.02 to 9.04 affecting parts of the Auckland CBD," she said.
