Power has now been restored to all properties in the Auckland central city after cuts affected more than 1300 customers this morning.
Vector crews found the source of the outage shortly before 3pm, and have since restored power.
A Vector spokeswoman said crew would now work to resolve the cable fault.
Power was earlier restored to 780 properties in Ponsonby after workers cut through a cable on the corner of Ponsonby and Great North Rds.
However, crews were then still investigating the cause of another power cut affecting 538 properties in the Eden Crescent area, including Auckland University and the edge of the CBD.
