Incorrect figures were used to calculate the increases in domestic electricity bills reported last Sunday.
The correct price figures show that, based on the average national annual use of 9000kWh, the monthly increase for a domestic Mercury Energy customer in Auckland will be $7.12, not $20.80.
Based on the same usage, the monthly increase for a domestic Genesis Energy customer in the Auckland region will be $18.73, not $12.98.
That means Mercury's average monthly increase is the lowest of the companies mentioned, not the highest.
The errors are regretted.
