Vector's online outages map showed only a fault on Waiheke Island on Saturday afternoon.
Olsen said he couldn't monitor Vector's social media updates because he has no power to charge his mobile phone.
"I've seen crews on Carter Road just around the corner. I don't know how they prioritise the jobs."
"We can't fix the line without Vector switching off the power."
Olsen said he would have to travel five kilometres to charge his phone at a friend's place to contact Vector, which has been advising customers to contact their power retailer to request fault repairs.
Olsen said his electrician had offered to fix the power line if only Vector would switch off the power.
Lily and Damon Andrews of Glen Eden were profiled by the Weekend Herald as remaining without power. However, Sandy Hodge of Vector helped the Andrews restore their power this morning.
Hodge said just 40 customers remained without power on Saturday afternoon, down from 90,000 customers initially. Hodge said the online outage map which showed only Waiheke Island as suffering an outage was inaccurate as it didn't account for faults affecting fewer than 20 houses.
"The sense of frustration must be big," Hodge agreed.
Regaring Olsen's case, Hodge said Vector first restored large arterial lines before lower voltage lines. Hodge advised Olsen to contact his electrician as lines between houses and power poles are a customer's responsibility.
Mercury Energy and Vector have advised households without power to report faults on 0508 832 867, 0800 232 858 or 0800 462 668
