Power outage in Ponsonby

Streets in two central Auckland suburbs are currently experiencing power outages.

The majority of Ponsonby has been without power for more than an hour, according to Vector.

Power is expected to be restored to the suburb by 11pm.

Meanwhile, a small area of Epsom, near the Merivale Reserve, is currently without power. Power is expected to be restored to the Epsom streets by 11.30pm.

Several people have been posting on social media about the Ponsonby power outage.

One Twitter user wrote: "First powet cut whilst living in Ponsonby. Although somehow Ponsonby Rd seems fine. We're too rich & tech savvy for candles. It's all apps."
