A truck smashed into a power pole and brought live lines down across busy State Highway 2 this morning.
The crash occurred about 7.50am at Wairoa Rd, Te Puna.
The impact snapped the power pole, resulting in the live lines falling across the road. The accident has resulted in traffic delays.
It was unclear if the truck driver was injured. Electricity company workers were on their way to the scene.
