Wellington rail commuters using the Hutt Valley line faced delays this morning following a power fault on overhead lines near Petone.
KiwiRail spokesman Nigel Parry said the fault was identified early this morning and fixed by 6.45am, but the stoppages had a flow-on effect during the rush-hour period.
Mr Parry said passengers were being advised of delays of up to 20-minutes, but average delays were less than that and services were back on schedule by mid-morning.
