New Zealand Post business customers must now use postcodes if they want high-volume discounts.
The two-year transition period ended yesterday and businesses that do not fully and correctly address their mail will now pay significantly more to have it delivered.
New Zealand Post CEO Peter Fenton said around 20 per cent of mail was incorrectly addressed.
He said working with business customers to ensure correct addressing, meant they could take costs out of their process and ensure accurate and reliable delivery.
People can find out their postcode by using NZ Post's online postcode finder.
