An armed robbery at a Hamilton Post Shop yesterday morning left staff and customers distressed, say police.
Two heavily disguised men entered the Chartwell Square Post Shop soon after 10am, said Senior Sergeant Jeff Penno. At least one was armed with a rifle.
The robbers demanded cash from the KiwiBank teller, then fled in a stolen vehicle with an unknown amount of money. No staff or customers were harmed.
The grey Nissan hatchback was found dumped nearby soon after.
Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle between Westfield Chartwell and Donny Park late yesterday morning.
New Zealand Post spokesman Keith Fitzpatrick said four staff and about 10 customers were in the store at the time of the robbery.
"No one was hurt but these things are always traumatic and unnerving."
