Post-mortem to determine shock Hamilton death

Police are waiting for post-mortem results after the sudden, unexplained death of a woman in Hamilton

The 55-year-old woman was found dead in her suburban Whitiora home early today, Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton said.

The cause of death was not yet known and the case was being treated as a sudden death, he said.

"We're keeping an open mind at this time and hope the post-mortem will give us a clearer picture later in the day of just what has occurred."
