Possum burgers are on the menu at Northland's upcoming Field Days.
The mini burgers will be given to visitors at the Northland Regional Council's marquee at the three-day event in Dargaville later this month.
Regional council spokeswoman Natasha Stubbing said it was not the first time they had used treats made from wild pests to attract visitors.
Previous wild foods have included wasp larvae ice-cream, possum and goat meat pies, possum pate and wild rabbit sausages.
This year's offering will use meat sourced from around 100 possums trapped in the Maungakaramea area near Whangarei, she said.
