KEY POINTS:
Napier police are investigating a possible sexual motive for the stabbing of a Napier woman, found dead in her home over a week ago.
The body of Chattrice Maihi-Carroll was found naked by family members on January 21 and police have been piecing together her final movements on the weekend before she died.
Detective Inspector Sam Aberahama said the investigation team was being beefed up.
"There is a possibility of a sexual assault, so we are trying to establish the nature of that. We are looking at all options and have a very open mind as to the motive for this murder," Mr Aberahama said.
Police spokeswoman Kris McGehan said an extra two officers from Gisborne and more from Wellington would be added to the 20 already investigating.
