Police in Christchurch are investigating the possible abduction of a woman who was seen having an altercation with a man at a local park last night.
Detective Greg Brand said a man walking his dog had reported seeing a woman with a bloody nose arguing with a man in Woodham Park at about 9.30pm.
The member of the public confronted the man but a third man appeared and made threats before the two men left with the woman in a car towards New Brighton.
Mr Brand said police were concerned the woman was taken against her will and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
The car was a white, mid-1990s Subaru Legacy saloon and had no rear number plate, a smashed tail-light and twisted bumper.
One of the men was described as Maori in his mid-20s, about 175cm tall and of stocky build with a moustache, wearing a "Snoop Dog" hooded jacket and light blue bandana.
The other was about 182cm tall wearing a dark padded jacket with fur trim around the hood.
The woman was described as being in her mid-20s with long straight blonde hair in a pony tail wearing a white jacket and dark dress trousers.
