Porsche will show a "spectacular" model when it returns for the first time in four years to next month's Detroit motor show.
"We'll have something spectacular to show there," said Hans-Gerd Bode, a Porsche spokesman.
"You'll have to wait and be surprised." Porsche will join other Volkswagen group presentations at Detroit on January 10, including luxury unit Audi and ultra-luxury brand Bentley, Bode says.
The sportscar company pulled out of Detroit after 2007 to focus United States activities on the Los Angeles show last month.
Detroit has been a mainstay of the US automotive industry for more than a century and is the largest annual US show.
"Porsche's return demonstrates the relevancy of the Detroit show for luxury manufacturers," said Rebecca Lindland, a US automotive analyst.
The company's US deliveries surged 49 per cent last month to 2416 cars and sport-utility vehicles, the sixth consecutive month of at least double-digit sales increases.
Year-to-date sales gained 29 per cent to 22,753 units.
