Porsche milestone reached

The Porsche Cayenne off-roader has reached the 200,000 mark, with employees at the company's Leipzig plant rolling out the milestone vehicle this year. The 200,000th vehicle was a red Cayenne GTS, destined for a customer in the Middle East.

It's a year since Porsche launched the second-generation Cayenne on to the market.

The new models feature higher-performance engines with direct petrol injection, but fuel consumption is up to 15 per cent lower. The GTS is a special sports-oriented version with a V8 engine. America accounts for about 30 per cent of the Cayenne market.
