Police are hunting for a man who walked into a Porirua shop and punched the manager to the ground before fleeing with stolen cash.
The victim suffered moderate facial injuries in the Christmas Eve attack, which happened at a shop on Mungavin Ave, Detective Sergeant Stephen Wescott said.
The attacker entered the shop about 2pm and punched the manager behind the counter, who fell to the ground.
The man was wearing a red T-shirt and black jeans with a red bandanna tucked into the waistline. He has a number of tattoos and curly hair.
