Police are warning Porirua residents to watch for a man trying to lure teenage girls into his car.
Police had two reports of an Indian man, 20 to 40 years old, driving up to girls and inviting them into his Silver Subaru.
The medium-built man has a moustache, dark spiky hair and an Indian accent.
Detective Mike Craig said the man approached a 14-year-old girl in Tawa on her way to school today. He tried to encourage her into his car.
Last week, police received a report of a 13-year-old girl in Cannons Creek who was approached in the same way.
"This type of behaviour is potentially dangerous. We suggest parents remind their children and teenagers not to get into vehicles with strangers," Mr Craig said.
Police would like to hear of any sightings of men matching the description.
