This summer heralds the return of Auckland's Pop-up Globe. Five new plays will grace its stages across the 2017-2018 season.
For the third time, some of Shakespeare's greatest plays will be recreated for Auckland's audiences at the pop-up theatre in Ellerslie.
The doors are set to open on December 7 with what promoters said was one of the "greatest stage comedies" of all time - A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Directed by Pop-up Globe artistic director and founder, Dr Miles Gregory, and featuring specialist actors from the Kings Company, 10 special evening performances will be put on in the lead-up to Christmas.
This will be followed by performances of The Merchant of Venice, Macbeth, The Comedy of Errors and Julius Caesar from January 11.
