Public opinion is firmly behind raising the driving age and keeping combat troops out of Iraq, an opinion poll published today shows.
The Fairfax-ACNielsen poll published in a Wellington newspaper showed 70 per cent of those questioned wanted the driving age raised from 15, while 28 per cent did not and 3 per cent did not know.
Asked whether New Zealand should send troops to Iraq if the United States asked for them, 67 per cent said no, 25 per cent said yet and 9 per cent did not know.
The poll questioned 1190 people and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3 per cent.
