Taranaki King-Country MP Barbara Kuriger has been elected senior whip for the National Party.
Opposition leader Simon Bridges announced the election by Caucus of National's three whips. Joining Ms Kuriger are Matt Doocey as junior whip and Tim van de Molen as third whip.
Mr Bridges said the three MPs will play an important role over the next few years.
"These three MPs have an important role to play in helping ensure the efforts of all 56 National MPs are focused on holding this Government to account and coming up with the plans and policies to take New Zealand forward."
Ms Kuriger said she was delighted with her new role.
"I am thrilled to have the confidence of the leader and the National Party Caucus as the new senior whip.
