United Future leader Peter Dunne says 90 per cent of people who made submissions on a document on income splitting support the idea.
United Future achieved the discussion document as part of its confidence agreement with the Government.
Income splitting means a couple's income is treated as one income for tax purposes.
Inland Revenue got 205 submissions of which 90 per cent were in support and 7 per cent against. Most submitters, 70 per cent, said it should be optional.
