KEY POINTS:
The National Party is seeking an amendment to the Electoral Finance Act so financial agents do not have to put their home addresses on campaign material.
Under the Electoral Finance Act, the residential address of financial agents must be printed on all campaign material.
But Labour breached the law by using its party headquarters' address on a campaign CD featuring the Better off with Labour song written by Chris Knox.
The Green Party has also been using its headquarters address on its website and billboards and the issue prompted the Electoral Commission to write to parties to tell them the residential address had to be used.
National's deputy leader, Bill English, said he would seek to have an amendment to allow financial agents of parties, candidates and organisations listed as third parties to use their business addresses or residential addresses on election advertising.
Individuals listing as third parties will still have to use their residential addresses.
Mr English expected Labour would support it.
