PM to fly Maori flag

A Maori flag will fly alongside the New Zealand flag on Waitangi Day at Premier House, the Prime Minister's official residence in Wellington.

John Key says there have been discussions about which Maori flag should be used on the Auckland Harbour Bridge and other sites, and Maori Party co-leader Pita Sharples has made a recommendation which has yet to be presented to the Cabinet.

Mr Key would not say yesterday which Maori flag would be used but indicated it would be flown on more sites than before.
