KEY POINTS:
Labour leader Phil Goff is not happy with the activities of some of his party's younger staffers.
One person has been arrested and enquiries are continuing regarding several others, after they allegedly stole several boxes of wine from the press gallery's end of year Christmas party last night.
Phil Goff says it is a serious matter and totally unacceptable.
"That matter will be dealt with through the normal channels of the justice system and Parliamentary Services. I deeply regret that that action was taken."
Mr Goff is not sure of all of the details but says he understands some of those responsible do work for the Labour Party.
Spokesman for Mr Goff, Gordon Jon Thompson, confirmed to nzherald.co.nz that a Labour staff member had been arrested but declined to comment any further.
