Carers to get Govt support

The Government is to give $3.5 million a year to support people who care for disabled or sick relatives at home.

There will be $1.3 million in the first year, to be announced in this month's Budget, Community and Voluntary Sector Minister Tariana Turia told TV One's Q&A programme yesterday. In following years, funding would increase to $3.5 million.
