Trick or treat?
National's Annabel Young made a pathetic pitch for publicity yesterday, complaining that a sausage sizzle organised by Labour's Wellington Central hopeful, Marian Hobbs, was a clear case of "treating" - illegally buying votes. To satisfy the law and the electorate's resident pedant, Hobbs will have a "koha basket" so people can donate cash for their bangers.
Flat white, Wild Green?
Green candidate Nandor Tanczos practises the nonviolent message he preaches. As the Greens sprout in the polls, the Alliance's Jim Anderton has questioned the credibility of the likes of Tanczos, who is fifth on his party list. The Wild Green has written to Anderton, suggesting a chat. "Perhaps I could shout you a coffee."
